Processing and Tooling Come Together
Mold designers, tooling and process engineers, managers, supervisors, repair technicians and molders can come together to learn how to efficiently produce quality parts on time during this inaugural Mold Performance Technology conference.
MoldTrax’s Steve Johnson has worked with MoldMaking Technology almost since its launch back in 1997 with his Across the Bench and Maintenance Matters series focused on mold maintenance and repair challenges and solutions. He’s also presented workshops during Amerimold Expo. And, I’ve worked with Beaumont Technologies, Inc. / AIM Institute throughout the years on content addressingmore of the front-end challenges of moldmaking when it comes to troubleshooting and optimizing mold and part design and processing.
Most recently, they both shared their expertise in our October Hot Runner Supplement, presented by MoldMaking Technology and sister publication, Plastics Technology. Steve explains how improving a manifold’s maintenance plan requires specific skills and knowledge of its functioning areas, and Dave Hoffman shares the importance of details when it comes to selecting and integrating a hot runner system.
Now the two organizations are joining forces to present a three-day Mold Performance Technology Conference in Ashland, Ohio at the MoldTrax Maintenance Training Center on November 7- 10.
This event is bringing processing and tooling experts together to explore strategies to optimize mold performance and maintain efficiency on many different types of injection molds making products from all industries.
This collaboration came out of a philosophy shared by Steve Johnson and John Beaumont. That is, the ability to understand not only product defect positions, but also the shear generated by plastic flow within a mold, is critical to “efficiently produce quality parts on time,” which is the goal of every molder.
Attendees will gain an increased awareness of how these molding disciplines affect each other, and ultimately the plastic part, so they can better institute proactive strategies to reduce quality concerns and more efficiently troubleshoot performance issues.
Integrated break-out sessions give attendees a chance to see mold cleaning and repair equipment, along with demonstrations and discussions with Blue-Wave Ultrasonics, Poly-Blast Plastic Media Blasting, FastHeat Controllers, Alliance Laser Sales and Specialties, Polymer Cleaning Technology, Gesswein and more.
Classes are 8:00am – 4:00pm with lunch provided and evening activities, icluding dinner at a local resort and a private, guided tour through the famous Mansfield Reformatory where the movie Shawshank Redemption was filmed.
