Valve Gate Sequencer Gives More Exacting Moldfilling Control
PCS is presenting the state-of-the-art Polimold system which enables more control at the opening and closing of hot runner valve gate pins.
PCS Company introduces the Polimold Valve Gate Sequencer, a state-of-the-art system designed to provide injection molders with more exacting control of the moldfilling sequence during production when using valve gate hot runner systems.
According to the company, injection molds, large and small, can be more profitable by using the Polimold Valve Gate Sequencer, which enables the molding operator to control the opening and closing of the valve gate pins. “Each module of the Polimold Valve Gate Sequencer controls two zones,” says Derrick Jones, PCS Company VP of sales. “Users have the option of controlling up to 14 zones with this user-friendly system. In addition, multiple sequence injection capabilities means the valve gates can be opened and closed simultaneously or individually. Either way, when you have this level of control, you can produce better quality parts, and less scrap.”
The Polimold Valve Gate Sequencer is modular and compact, and can be used for both pneumatic and hydraulic valve gate systems. Benefits gained from using this system include:
- The ability to remove or reposition weld lines on cosmetic surfaces or to improve part strength.
- The elimination of flash and short shots with precisely controlled material flow.
- The reduction of clamping force needed when valve gates are sequentially opened and closed.
- The reduction of flow marks on the molded part due to faster fill rate capability at the gate.
