CAM-Tool by CGS North America will be releasing version 17 in North America this summer 2021, as well as demonstrating the CAD/CAM software at Amerimold 2021 in September.
According to the company, one of the major improvements featured in Version 17 is the addition of a toolpath boundary in the Common Settings. The Common Settings will now allow users to set a shape, stock model, toolpath boundary and Z cutting range which can then be applied to all toolpaths. As a result, these values will automatically reference a user’s work setting to generate the values from the CAD model for further process automation with limited user input.
CGS North America notes that when these new Common Settings are used with CAM-Tool’s prebuilt machining templates and tooling database with built-in Parameters from leading cutting tool manufacturers, it will allow CAM-Tool users the ability to easily apply their proprietary templates on each job they do. This will give shops the ability to have their most skilled users set up the templates, which new users can then easily apply to achieve the same results.
