My last blog talked about funding to address workforce development challenges—an industry hot topic. Thought you may want to check out several companies that offer various training programs.
Tooling Docs bills itself as an authority on mold maintenance, offering mold maintenance certification training involving both classroom and hands-on education, including Maintenance Capability Assessments (MCA), On Site Training (OST) and Total Systems Implementation (TSI). ToolingDocs also offers consulting for shop layout and toolroom personnel development.
The Tooling Docs website can connect you with additional resources in several states that can assist mold manufacturers with funding for workforce training.
Expert Tech provides a number of online, video-based training courses for the moldmaking industry. The company recently formed a partnership with Immerse2learn—a company that sells CNC related training to schools—to offer both beginner training and more advanced, specialized training. Classes like Machine Shop Safety, Shop Floor Communication and Leadership, Introductory Shop Math, Precision Measurement, Blueprint Reading, Advanced Shop Math, Introduction to Plastic Injection Molds, Introduction to CNC Mills (Fanuc or Haas), Introduction to CNC Lathes (Fanuc or Haas), and Advanced CNCN Milling and Drilling.
RGJ Inc. provides tools and training for molders to implement various Scientific Molding Techniques to help them improve molding quality, productivity and profitability. Additional techniques covered include Decoupled Molding SM, the eDART System™, the Master MolderSM, and Tryout Shop Certification programs.
Tooling U provides online training in the form of more than 400 course offerings for machine operators, welders, assemblers, inspectors and maintenance professionals. The classes are delivered through the company’s custom learning management system (LMS), which provides tracking and reporting capabilities. Customization tools, content-development services, and multi-language support are available. Competency models provide industry-specific training packages that mirror common industry jobs and tie online learning to hands-on tasks and responsibilities.
