Medical manufacturers coming to IMTS 2022 will find plenty of booths and activities that will support their businesses. In addition to the many OEMs, material suppliers and other medical manufacturers present at the show, there will be numerous conferences specifically catering to the industry.
IMTS 2022 Conferences and Events for Medical Manufacturers
One conference that no medical manufacturer should miss is the Parts Cleaning Conference. As everyone who works in medical knows, proper treatment and cleaning of medical equipment is paramount, and this conference provides the perfect opportunity to hear from professionals in the field of cleaning parts.
Brulin Director of R&D Yangsheng Zhang is giving a talk titled Precision Cleaning with Bi-Solvents and Co-Solvents in Vapor Degreasing Systems as part of the conference, during which Zhang will provide an example of bi- and co-solvents in an application producing medical devices. This talk will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 am in the East Building, Room E353-B.
Additionally, the Parts Cleaning Conference will feature a talk by Kyzen Western Regional Manager Scott Cain: 3D Cleaning - The Future of Part Manufacturing is Here. This talk will discuss the numerous challenges that arise when cleaning 3D-printed products such as medical implants. The talk will include common practices for cleaning 3D-printed parts, the cleaning challenges of common AM materials, and how to determine what technology is best for your application. You can find this on Tuesday at 3 pm in the East Building, Room E350.

Any medical manufacturers looking to get into 3D-Printing might want to keep an eye out for the Additive Manufacturing Conference in the West Building. Specifically, check out FDA Clearance for AM Medical Devices, a talk given by Device 2 Market Owner/Consultant Adrienne von Foller. The talk will focus on FDA requirements for medical device clearance, with a specific focus on 3D-printed parts. You can find this Thursday at 9 am in the West Building, room W375-A.
Another lecture that medical manufacturers might find value in is the IMTS Conference lecture Solving Additive Challenged with Advanced 3D Scanning. In it, Capture 3D Application Specialist Steve DeRemer will discuss the challenges posed by the need to validate features of complex 3D-printed parts. For medical manufactures producing 3D-printed implants, this is an especially important topic. DeRemer will discuss how to implement and maintain quality control for complex printed parts, including how to scale such an operation up.
