SLIDESHOW: Amerimold is a Celebration of Our Industry

Yes, Amerimold is a trade show and conference, but for so many of us it is also a celebration of the moldmaking industry. And we have the photos from this year’s show to prove it.

Nothing is more exciting than opening day at Amerimold, especially when the registration desk is buzzing and the line of attendees extends as far as the eye can see! Of course, a power outage might have had something to do with that...

Here we are, Christina Fuges (right) and me, ready for the doors to open so we can meet attendees and distribute a few of our 2016 Top 10 Reasons to be a Moldmaker t-shirts! Every year we're more impressed by the creativity of those who submit a reason for a chance to make the Top 10.

Oh, wow! Here's an attendee who's obviously a veteran of past Amerimolds as he is sporting a t-shirt from 2007. Nice to know our industry loves this tradition as much as we do.

Our 2016 Top 10 Reasons t-shirt was in high demand. Forget folding them - just toss them out to attendees as they approach!

MoldMaking Technology's Editorial Director Christina Fuges presents a gift card to Denny Scher for submitting the Number One reason to be a moldmaker: Our runners won't flash you at the gate!

At Amerimold, there's never a lack of creativity and even whimsy in booth displays. Here we found a really fun example of what can be machined using hyperMill CAM software from Open Mind Technologies. There's actually a little guy inside the sphere holding a missing piece of the puzzle!

Here's yet another example of, dare we say it?, beauty in the form of an acrylic model showing what's being machined inside one of the many machining centers on display.

Pride in American Manufacturing was evident in many booths around Amerimold, including this Alliance Laser Sales display.

On the way from the show floor to the conference rooms it was hard to miss this huge billboard from last year's Leadtime Leader Award Winner, Cavalier Tool and Manufacturing Ltd. Seeing double??

Conference attendees enjoyed not only an informative program but a bodacious buffet for lunch each day.

At the end of the first day of Amerimold, attendees and exhibitors alike enjoyed the annual Casino Cocktail Reception with good food, lots of networking, great music and, of course, casino-style games!

The Roulette table was busy, and whether anyone was winning or losing, there's no doubt everyone enjoyed themselves.

Even John Hamming got into the games, spinning the prize wheel and getting everyone involved around him.

The music was so good during our Casino Cocktail Reception at Amerimold that soon several guests were on the dance floor!

Entertaining as ever, Justin McPhee from Mold Craft donned a feather boa and sunglasses and joined the other dancers at the reception.

Just a photo or two to also let folks know that MoldMaking Technology Magazine bid farewell to its latest roster of members on its Editorial Advisory Board. A dinner was held at a local brewery in Novi the evening prior to Amerimold opening to thank these industry leaders for their service.

From registration on opening day at the Suburban Collection Showcase in Novi, Michigan, to show closing on day two, we found evidence throughout Amerimold of an industry that is strong, proud and knows how to have fun!
