Swiss Steel USA introduces its latest innovations in tool steels, showcasing significant advancements in heat resistance and durability for die-casting applications. In particular, advancements that address the extreme thermal stresses inherent in high-temperature production processes.

The new tool steels are specifically designed to resist the formation of "hot cracks," a common issue caused by repeated thermal cycling during die casting. The company’s advanced steel formulations offer a significant extension in the service life of die-cast dies by reducing the occurrence of thermally induced stress cracks. This improvement minimizes downtime, resulting in greater operational efficiency.

Also, the combination of strength and toughness in these steels allows for more consistent production cycles, without sacrificing tool life. Field trials have demonstrated up to a 200% increase in tool lifespan, highlighting the durability and reliability of these materials.

Proven in real-world applications, like in the U.S., a critical component’s lifespan increased by more than 50% and in Brazil, the service life of a tool was extended from 100,000 to 150,000 cycles. These examples demonstrate the steels' ability to perform exceptionally well in demanding applications, particularly in automotive and structural component manufacturing.
