Thermal Management, Modular Mold Systems, IoT Connectivity Demonstrated at K Show
Three new platforms displayed by DME target reduced energy consumption, costs through boosted productivity and are more sustainable for part and mold designers, molder and toolmakers.
DME is showcasing a series of breakthrough solutions that target reducing energy consumption, reduced costs through boosted productivity and are more sustainable at this year’s K Show. Supporting part and mold designers, molders and toolmakers, DME is featuring three new platforms: DME thermal management solutions, DME modular mold systems and DME digital Internet of Things (IoT) controls.
Thermal management solutions include the “encapsulated and insulated” iControl Insulation hot runner system that is said to reduce energy consumption and boost productivity during the injection molding process. The DME Variotherm is another new product for the design of aesthetic plastic parts, enabling matte and gloss finishes within the molding process itself. The “hot/cold” heating and cooling system cycles from 20-200 degrees within nanoseconds, ensuring energy saves, and avoids additional painting steps.
Under DME’s modular mold system offerings is the SmartONE hot runner, a modular system ideal for low-cavitation tooling and processing a broad range of resins. It is available in open and valve gate options. The DME 3D modular mold concepts, built on 3D additive technologies, are said to enable faster, low-cost product development. The EZ-Stack is a ball screw device designed for use in stack molds to provide more reliable plate control even on the largest of tools. Accualign Lifters with conformal cooling feature DME’s new 3D additive tech for more complex geometry parts. Finally, the S-Core collapsible cores are featured with new and improved cooling systems to boost output wherever undercuts and unscrewing features are required.
DME also demonstrates its capabilities in IoT connectivity and adaptive technologies to facilitate connectivity between the devices and the Cloud, as well as between devices themselves. A SmartMold mold monitoring concept incorporates sensor technology to enable scientific molding for measuring and boosting OEE with improved system availability, performance and quality. The DME M2+ hot runner controllers feature the latest in digital controls with comprehensive process management, including advanced control options such as valve gate and servo control. And the DME Connect QR system reportedly enables the end user to connect from the molded parts to the internet.
The K Show runs October 19-26, 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
