Punch Industry USA Inc. has recently partnered with German die component manufacturer Steinel Corp. to offer high-precision guide units in both metric and inch sizes to benefit moldmakers.
Punch, a mold and die component manufacturing subsidiary, now offers Steinel’s line of inch-sized guide elements, including guide pillars, ball cages, cage holders and guide bushings — all with and without the shoulder. Made with precision and efficiency in mind, these guide units are well suited for molders whose molding application require accuracy and high-performance capabilities. For molders battling high-lateral forces or contamination, the company says these units can improve both durability and performance.
Additionally, customers have the option to customize the guide units based on specific needs. The standard metric sizes are also available with guide pillars of lengths up to 1,500 mm and diameters up to 160 mm. The guide bushings offer up to L400 mm, ID 212 mm and OD 240 mm. For applications requiring a smooth, controlled linear motion, lubrication retention, load capacity and a long-term, maintenance-free operation, there is also the option to pair with Steinel’s durable and lightweight aluminum roller cages.
The guide units are useful for moldmakers and injection molders alike, particularly those functioning within the pharmaceutical and food industries. Additionally, the company says the guide units are beneficial to customers which require high-precision and performance guide units to meet hygiene and safety standards.
