Added Features to CAD/CAM Software Boosts Efficiency Between Machine and Controls

Open Mind Technologies USA Inc., a developer of CAD/CAM software solutions, offers powerful technology in its hyperMILL CAD/CAM software such as the reading back of measuring points when using hyperMILL Virtual Machining. A robust post processor system that simulates G-code, hyperMILL Virtual Machining provides complete collision check and enables constant, real time bi-directional communication between machine and control.
First offered in hyperMILL 2024, the reading back of measuring points after in-process probing is a new feature that enables color-coded graphical representation of measured points on the part model. Showing the measured points directly on the model instead of as a list of measurements aligns the results graphically with the key part features. Users can also quickly identify measuring points that are out of tolerance on a 3D part model and compare trends over sequential measurements. As a result, it is much easier to analyze and compensate for inaccuracies and tool wear post-milling.
