Tool Guide System Offers High Precision
NPE2024: Agathon Machine Tools showcases it’s latest tool guide system, the Guide System Plus, which provides main tool guiding, but also the fine centering between mold halves.
With more than 100 years in operation, Agathon Machine Tools has developed several tool guide systems known in the mold market today. The company claims that its high-precision guide systems help to increase users’ cycle times and reduces maintenance costs; they have been successful in critical applications, even when tight tolerances are needed.
Agathon’s latest product in this line is the Guide System Plus. This system not only provides the main tool guiding, but also the fine centering between mold halves. Agathon products use a fine centering technique that utilizes rolling elements, which the company says enables users to eliminate traditional friction-style side and tapper locks that wear out quickly and require frequent replacement — resulting in a smoother running tool and longer tool life.
