Amerimold 2021 day two ended with a true celebration. The handoff of the Leadtime Leader Award (sponsored by Progressive Components) from Precise Tooling Solutions to Westminster Tool was an unforgettable moment to be sure.

As Ray Coombs Jr., president of Westminster Tool, reminded the community gathered to celebrate, “We are a family. Bringing everybody together, that is where the magic happens.”

He was right. The message we received from that week at Amerimold was repeated over and over again after we left: it was incredible to see everyone in person again. There is a magic that happens on the show floor and it is hard to replicate anywhere else.

MoldMaking Technology Editorial Director Christina Fuges had to step aside as two big moldmaking personalities took over the stage and took control of this year’s Leadtime Leader Awards Ceremony. However, they did bring her back to thank MMT and Amerimold for this honored recognition.

MoldMaking Technology’s Leadtime Leader Award has been an ongoing award since 2003. All these years later, it is a prestigious award given only to North American mold builders that go above and beyond in moldmaking.

The value of winning the Leadtime Leader Award is opportunity. The award will provide exposure to people and hopefully spark their curiosity about who Westminster Tool is and why we are being recognized,” says Ray Coombs Jr., president of Westminster Tool. “The recognition over the next year will provide opportunities to the company and to our workforce. It will continue to get the word out about our business model and infrastructure, which opens the door to more opportunities for our team. We believe that ‘Westminster Tool provides opportunities and by the way, we make molds.’”
