DMG MORI Grants Machine Usage to Pickens County Career and Technology Center

DMG MORI, a worldwide leading manufacturer of machine tools, grants machine usage to Pickens County Career and Technology Center located in Liberty, SC for educational support. Pickens CTC will be utilizing the company’s advanced technologies to offer education and training to their students. The Pickens CTC has been providing students skill training in many areas including manufacturing machine technology and mechatronics. For 42 years, the institution has supported four high schools in Pickens County. Pickens CTC offers courses for aspiring CNC operators and engineers among some of the many career paths offered.

ProShop USA Supports Student-Run “Eagle Manufacturing”

ProShop USA is donating ProShop ERP software to the student-run Eagle Manufacturing business at Brown County High School in Nashville, IN. ProShop software is a comprehensive web-based, paperless shop management system engineered to benefit small to medium-sized manufacturing companies. The company describes the software as a digital manufacturing ecosystem comprised of integrated modules for managing a shop’s ERP operations as well as manufacturing execution system and quality management systems functions, among others.

Westminster Tool Makes Donations to Local Makerspace, SkillsUSA Programs

Westminster Tool announced that it has made donations to Moosup Elementary School’s Makerspace program and H.H. Ellis Technical High School toward their SkillsUSA program. Made in celebration of Manufacturing Month, the donations, totaling over $5,000, provide continued support for these programs. On Oct. 16, Westminster Tool invited 15 third grade students from Moosup Elementary to visit the shop, highlighting manufacturing careers. The day included a tour of the facility and provided the opportunity for Westminster Tool staff to meet a few of the students who benefit from the Makerspace program. Joined by State Representatives Anne Dauphinais and Brian Lanoue, the event culminated with Westminster Tool presenting a $5,186 donation to Moosup Elementary and Shepard Hill Elementary.

Harry Moser, Reshoring Initiative Receive “MADE IN AMERICA 2019” Reshoring Award

Harry Moser and the Reshoring Initiative team received the MADE IN AMERICA 2019 Reshoring Award during the four-day MADE IN AMERICA 2019 event recently held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The event’s mission is to raise awareness for the economic, environmental and community impact of American-made manufacturers and brands. “I am honored to receive the award and I am delighted to participate in this inaugural event. MADE IN AMERICA 2019 was a great success, especially for a first of its kind event. I want to thank Don Buckner and his MadeinAmerica team and congratulate them on the event’s success.” said Moser, founder and president of the Reshoring Initiative. Harry Moser established the Reshoring Initiative in 2010 to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.

BIG KAISER Raises Funds for National Robotics League

From November 1 to December 31, 2019, Big Kaiser will donate 2% of every order from an NTMA or AMT member company directly to the National Robotics League (NRL). There is no order minimum or maximum, and only two requirements: 1. When customers place an order through their local distributor, request “drop-ship from Big Kaiser. 2. Reference “BK-NRL” as a line item on the order so that every dollar counts toward the donation to NRL. The company offers products lines of precision tooling, workholding and tool management systems aimed at reducing both the overall process time and the cost per part. Popular products include face mill holders, end mill holders, collet chucks, angle heads and tapping adaptors. The world-leading Kaiser boring system, high-performance Sphinx drills and Unilock workholding systems are also available, as are CAT, BT, HSK and Capto systems.

Mazak Congratulates Rodger Penske

Penske, whom recently received the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award at the White House from President Donald Trump. Mitutoyo America Corporation Announces Sponsorship with Titans of CNC

Mitutoyo America Corporation is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement with Titans of CNC, a free project-based education platform that helps guide students and teachers on CNC machine operation and programming. The Academy provides over 3,000 free online courses in CAD, CAM and CNC machining techniques, and is now used by over 45,000 members in 170 different countries.
