Haas Automation, Inc. (Oxnard, CA) will showcase its line of high-speed VMCs, HMCs and CNC lathes at EASTEC. The VM-2—with a 30"x20"x20" work cube, a 36"x18" table, a 12,000-rpm inline direct-drive spindle and a high-speed control with full look-ahead—features massive cast-iron construction and extensive internal ribbing on the castings to increase rigidity and damp vibrations. The company’s CNC lathes were designed to meet the needs of modern machine shops. With the ever-increasing trend towards shorter-run, multiple-op work, small- to medium-sized shops are finding they need a versatile, second-operation machine that can handle a broad range of jobs. The GT-20 lathe delivers high power and a high range of speeds in a small footprint production machine with an equally small price tag. The EC-400 HMC expands the production capability of the company’s EC Series of HMCs. The addition of a fully integrated, 6-station pallet pool to the shop-proven Haas EC-400 brings true “lights out” machining capability to small- and medium-sized manufacturers and production shops. Designed for high-volume production and unattended operation, the HMC features a 20" x 20" x 20"work cube, a six-station pallet pool with 400 mm pallets, and a high-precision, 1-degree pallet indexer.
