Dapra Corp. (Bloomfield, CT) has expanded its high-performance Toroid Cutting Tools by adding 12 new Shell Mills in ODs from 2" through 8". For maximum versatility, four insert geometries—round, square, high-feed and octagonal—are now available for Toroid Cutters. The company’s new Octagonal Inserts have eight-sided geometry for excellent general face milling capabilities. Their 45-degree lead angle provides increased feed capacity for face milling, profiling, helical interpolation and chamfering. In order to simplify the matching of the various-shaped inserts with specific cutter bodies, the company provides "R-value" designations, which can be found on each cutter body. Simply match the insert and cutter body "R-values" for compatibility.
