At NPE2015, Polyshot featured its compact Single Nozzle Valve Gate (SNVG), designed for direct valve gating of virtually all resins, including high-temperature PEEK and Ultem. The unit is pneumatically operated and available in shot capacities of 10-500 g.

The SNVG’s entire assembly fits within and replaces a standard 4"-diameter mold-locating ring. It has no levers, cams or external actuators, and requires no external cooling. The unit produces 400 lbs of valve pin pressure at 100 psi inlet air pressure for consistent valve-gate sealing. The nozzle can process filled and unfilled resins ranging to 750°F (400°C).

The company also showcased its “no drilling” manifold technology, designed to produce hot runner systems with zero hold-up areas, smooth flow paths, and improved balancing with no sharp corners. Hot runner systems with as many as 128 nozzles can be produced with this technology, the company says.
