All the new inserts are double-sided with helical cutting edges for gentler, quieter cutting. All have the exclusive low-friction SUMO TEC surface treatment to improve tool life by 30% on the average. All fit directly into standard HELIDO 490-17 cutter bodies.

 

The H490 ANKX 170604PNTR insert features a .016 " inch corner radius, expanding the radius choice range for HELIDO inserts from .094" down to the new .016" inch size.

 

With two ground cutting edges, the H490 ANCX 1706R15T-FF (fig.1) insert targets high feed milling of stainless steels, titanium and superalloys, among others.

 

The H490 ANKX 1706PNTR-RM (fig.2) insert features a reinforced cutting edge and a T-land to survive heavy roughing, interrupted cuts and hardened steels. In a shouldering test on AISI 304L stainless steel, this insert outlasted a standard HELIDO insert by 60%.
