Midland Technologies (Rogers, MN) has introduced a new cam for limited space and small side pulls to compliment its larger cam slides. These cams have been developed to be very versatile, robust, and efficient. The cams offered by Midland come in 4 compact standard sizes starting at 3/4” wide, with stroke from 3/8” up to 1”. Snapcams also have three different inserts available to make pulling core pins or part detail a snap. The core pin insert can accommodate a range of core pin sizes for ease of use. An extended insert is also available in order to pull part detail, where the detail would be machined into the insert. Unique to the cam is a 2-stage horn pin and slide designed to reduce pressure on the lock and reduce breakage. Snapcams also feature an exclusive spring retainer to hold the slide in position. Different coatings are utilized for lubricity and strength, while high quality steel underneath ensures a long life. Also, Midland can design and manufacture to a customers’ specifications when a custom slide is needed.
