The new DM milling tools were initially designed for the mold-making industry, but they can also be applied in many applications requiring shallow-milled features. Inserts are available for chamfering, centering and chamfering, slot milling, end milling and full-radius rough milling and semi-finish pattern milling. Standard carbide shanks for shrink-fit holders and steel shanks for collet holders are available. The company says an insert locking mechanism allows for quick insert change with less than 90 degrees of rotation.
