Mori Seiki (Chicago, IL) will display its machine innovations at Westec. The NMV5000 five-axis VMC as well as the DuraTurn 2050 and DuraVertical 5100 will be featured. The NMV5000 DCG™ achieves superb accuracy by increasing machine rigidity with DCG technology and a Box-in-Box Construction. To further improve the machine’s precision, the machine implements DD (Direct Drive) motors on the B and C axes. It also includes MAPPS III, the latest iteration of the company’s standard setting control. MAPPS III maximizes the NMV5000 DCG’s user-friendliness and offers improved hardware specifications, operability, and shorter programming times. The DuraTurn 2050 lathe and DuraVertical 5100 vertical machining center offer high performance machining at an extremely competitive price. The DuraTurn line was developed with an extremely rigid body to minimize the effects of vibration and increase accuracy, even over long-term operation. With four models of varying size, the machines allow for a maximum turning length ranging from 13.2” to 20.9”. The DuraVertical 5100 possesses a standard tool storage capacity of 30 tools and provides a tool-to-tool tool change time of just 1.3 seconds. Additionally, a variety of chip conveyor options are available to boost the machine’s productivity even further.
