Laser Welding Systems Target Small Areas of Metal

LaserStar Technologies will feature the second generation of its FiberStar line of fiber laser welding systems, available in powers ranging to 450 W.

LaserStar Technologies will feature the second generation of its FiberStar line of fiber laser welding systems, available in powers ranging to 450 W. Originally introduced in 2012, these welders are designed to produce a sharp, focused light beam that consistently melts a very small area of metal. According to the company, very little heat is generated at the weld point, allowing users to easily weld greater than 0.025 mm from complex, heat sensitive, intricate parts while providing wide parameter flexibility from 0 to 100-percent duty cycle.

The laser source is a permanently sealed, closed-loop-air-cooled design that protects against dust and dirt, has no consumable parts, and requires little maintenance.
