Dapra Corporation (Bloomfield, CT) has introduced two new insert options for its high-performance Toroid cutting tools. In addition to the company's standard button inserts, which are an excellent choice for many applications, high-feed Toroid Inserts and 90-degree Toroid inserts are now available. The high-feed inserts have a new cutting geometry that allows cutter feedrates up to .090" IPT and 600 ipm. They are ideal for pocketing, core/cavity roughing, face roughing and ramping/helical interpolation. Dapra's 90-degree Toroid inserts have square corners and perform most square shoulder applications. They are the economical answer for profiling, slotting, step milling, plunge milling, face milling and helical interpolation of cored holes.
