Melt Design Inc. offers a hot runner shut-off device that does not require a special machine nozzle tip. Designed for use with stack molds, the Anti-Drool Sprue Bar Device employs a steel ballcheck to automatically seal off material flow, preventing leakage from the sprue bar. The “anti-drool” technology is located between the machine nozzle and sprue bar to keep molds running and eliminate material waste, resulting in cost savings.

The device can be installed on new sprue bars or retrofitted to existing, non-functional ones. It can also be used on hot runner systems running on horizontal injection presses with vertical clamps.
