The North American Die Casting Association (NADCA; Wheeling, IL) is offering product designers and OEMs a free copy of Version 3.0 of the Design for Die Casting CD with a number of new features to assist companies in product development using cast parts.

The North American Die Casting Association (NADCA; Wheeling, IL) is offering product designers and OEMs a free copy of Version 3.0 of the Design for Die Casting CD with a number of new features to assist companies in product development using cast parts. The CD provides detailed information on the major facets of die casting, including alloy composition and properties, casting tolerances and die design. To help illustrate the various design techniques and options, there are four case study tutorials, along with an audio presentation and several animations. New features in the latest version of the CD include information on computer modeling capabilities; instruction on using aluminum prediction software; and a section on rapid tooling technologies. A new design branch allows quick access to key information, such as properties and dimensional tolerances.
