National Bronze & Metals, Inc. (Houston, TX) now has substantial inventory of C18000 RWMA Class III material (Copper Chromium Nickel Silicon), and several other copper-based alloys specific to the moldmaking industry. C18000 is a non-beryllium copper mold material that maintains comparable properties to the beryllium copper alloy, C17510 (both in conductivity and hardness). In comparison to aluminum and steel, C18000 has comparable hardness; however, it significantly exceeds both in thermal conductivity. This material is used in high production molds for bumper fascias, hot-runner nozzles, blow mold inserts and most long production run applications. The company also carries moldmaking alloys such as C18000, C17510 (Class III) and C17200 (Class IV) with availability in both rounds and plate.
