Fadal Machining Centers’ (Chatsworth, CA) 2216FX CNC vertical machining center (VMC) was designed for die/moldmakers and parts producers who need a full-featured machine with low operating costs, but have minimal capital investment dollars to spend on it. This VMC addresses critically-needed elements of rigidity, speed, and controls standardization/capability, at a precedent-setting price of $39,990 (excluding taxes, shipping and installation). The VMC features rigid box-way construction, Steinmeyer ETA+ dual-mounted ball screws for high accuracy and 8,000 RPM spindle speed. The GE Fanuc Fadal 0i-MC Control is an industry standard, with over 200 advanced programming, operational and troubleshooting features. Optional AI Contour Control adds “look ahead” capability to optimize acceleration and deceleration of the cutting speed. X/Y/Z axes travel on the 2216FX is 22” X 16” X 20”. The 3016FX increases the work envelope with 30” X-axis travel. Both machines have a 21-tool automatic changer.
