Lancer Systems (Booth 704) has added to its high-temperature application capabilities by acquiring all assets and rights related to CeraComp, a proprietary ceramic matrix composite technology. Developed by Greene, Tweed & Co., CeraComp is a hard, lightweight, chemically resistant and thermally insulative material that is suitable for use in operating environments with temperatures exceeding 600°C (1,100°F).

According to Lancer, the composite offers improved structural integrity and fracture resistance over monolithic ceramics. The company says it is able to tailor the material to meet high-temperature demands, and shock and impact resistance requirements for out-of-engine aerospace solutions.
