Open Mind Technologies will present its hyperMill CAM software, which is well-suited for mold and die applications. Recent enhancements in the 2014 version include an overhaul to the rest machining function, including improvements to calculation speed and region detection, both in three-axis and five-axis.  The rest machining, as well as other slope-based machining techniques, have higher precision based on the cached memory approach, the company says.

The hyperMaxx high-performance roughing module, based on the Volumill kernel, also is said to provide strong benefits to core and cavity applications. In addition to effective roughing with large depth of cut, the procedure also comes back to clean walls near sloped or drafted surfaces.

Visitors to the Open Mind booth also will be able to meet with company staff and view software demonstrations.
