The Awea FM-16 is an ideal machine for the die and mold shop that is looking for a highly accurate machining center. As with all Awea-built machining centers, the F-16 employs rapid movement and high precision positioning. More importantly, the F-16 has a 35-hp integral spindle with HSK 63 taper and 22,000 rpm spindle speed. Unusual about the Awea FM-16 is its ram-type x-axis. Instead of being on the table, it is on the head. This feature allows for high rigidity at high spindle speed. The machine was especially designed for the mold and die industry and easily outclasses any competitors. It has a high speed, precision Schneeberger roller guideway and six high-speed precision Schneeberger roller pads on its Z axis.
