Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions opens a facility for metrology services in Lake Forest, California near Los Angeles. Zeiss offers metrology services in several regional areas including Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and Nashville. According to Gil Flor, the site manager of metrology services, this center will also enable the company to offer software training to customers. The software training will cover Calypso levels and PiWeb reporting software that connects machines to control and analyze data.
Engineers provide programming, consulting and specialized training. A range of contact and optical measurement systems and sensors are available, including the larger measuring range Micura CMM with active scanning and submicron accuracy, especially useful for measuring complex parts. For optical measurements, the O-Inspect system features both optical and contact scanning for reliable 3D accuracy. There are also the latest surface, form and geometry systems to round out inspection capabilities.
