Yushin America Expands

The expansion nearly doubles the size of the company’s plant in Cranston, RI.

Yushin, a company known for its expertise in plastics-industry robotics, has begun a $2 million expansion that will increase the manufacturing and warehousing space in their Cranston, RI facility by 77 percent. Immediate plans call for doubling the number of robot assembly bays. The next phase of the expansion, which is due to be completed in the next two to three years, will triple the number of bays.

Steady growth in the industrial robotics markets has provided the need to increase floor space and manpower, the company says. To address the latter concern, the company is working with local educational institutions to develop training programs to better equip the new workforce with relevant skills.  With Yushin’s assistance, local schools have altered their curriculum to offer relevant CNC machining and technical education courses.  In addition to hiring a number of those graduates, Yushin provides internships to students enrolled in those programs. In an effort to be ready before the expansion is complete, Yushin is actively searching for qualified candidates in mechanical engineering, robot assembly, customer support, field service technicians, sales administration and marketing administration.
