Spectrum Plastics Group Awarded AS9100 Certification

Spectrum’s outstanding support of the Aerospace industry is officially validated, as its Minnesota plant is awarded AS9100 Rev C Certification.

Spectrum Plastics Group today announced it is officially certified as AS9100 compliant, the standardized quality management system for the Aerospace industry.  This achievement is significant, and it represents the successful completion of a very long and in depth audit process.

“We are very excited…” remarks Bill Thompson, Quality Manager of Spectrum Plastics Group’s Minnesota division.  “…we’ve literally been working towards this for years, so it feels great today to be able to say YES, we are AS9100 certified!”

Spectrum is a product development and contract manufacturing production partner, serving the Medical, Aerospace and Defense markets.  Both of its manufacturing facilities maintain other quality certifications including ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 for specific Medical requirements.   Additionally, the company is CFR cGMP 21 Section 820 Compliant for Medical manufacturing practices, as well as ITAR compliant and registered at all divisions. For more than 50 years, Spectrum has been manufacturing products for some of the largest industry-leading Aerospace and Defense OEM’s, and achieving AS9100 certification further supports its commitment to delivering high quality products for its customers’ critical applications.

“We’re no stranger to quality processes and adhering to regulatory requirements,” points out Mike Brescia, Director of Sales for the Aerospace and Defense business group, “but having AS9100 is the icing on the cake today.  We have a long history of serving the Aerospace industry with custom injection molded components and assemblies, and this AS9100 certification gives our plants the recognition and credibility they deserve, which ultimately helps us land new programs and better service the major OEM’s of the Aerospace industry.”
