Slide Products Service Reduces Hazardous Waste Disposal Costs
Slide Products’ new Slide Hazardous Aerosol Return Program (SHARP) aims to help molders eliminate the cost and hassle of disposing of Slide aerosols themselves, saving them time and money.
Slide Products now offers a hazardous aerosol return service called the Slide Hazardous Aerosol Return Program (SHARP), a service that helps molders reduce hazardous waste disposal costs, keep hazmat out of the waste stream and protect ground water.
Through SHARP, manufacturers can return used Slide-labeled aerosol cans to Slide Products for proper hazmat waste disposal. What’s more, Slide Products’ SHARP service is free. Manufacturers only need to pay to return the used aerosols to Slide’s hazardous waste disposal team in Wheeling, Illinois.
According to the company, SHARP is intended to help molders eliminate the cost and hassle of disposing of Slide aerosols themselves, saving them time and money.
SHARP is the latest in a series of efforts taken by Slide to properly manage the hazardous waste it generates and reduce its impact on the environment. “What sets Slide apart in the plastics industry is our commitment to sustainability,” says Slide Products President Michael Muth. “For example, any remnant chemical waste we produce is collected, incinerated and turned into energy sold back to the power company.” According to Muth, this decreases the load placed on landfills and helps prevent dangerous materials from polluting the environment.
