NCMS and CCAM Announce New Collaboration
The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences and the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing announce new collaborative moves to create unique growth opportunities for manufacturers.
Today the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) and the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) announced they have entered a mutual Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This MOU indicates that CCAM will join NCMS effective immediately; NCMS will join CCAM as a government member. NCMS is expected to officially be voted into the consortium during CCAM’s board meeting on May 3, 2018.
NCMS is one of the nation’s largest cross-industry technology development organization. It says it is dedicated to improving the competitiveness and strength of the U.S industrial base. As a member-based consortium, NCMS leverages its network of members and partners to research, develop, demonstrate and transition innovative technologies more efficiently with less risk and at a lower cost than going it alone. NCMS connects industry, government and education to work together on technology development and engage in unique growth opportunities for their businesses.The MOU is necessary to establish cross-membership and facilitate a collaboration in manufacturing research. CCAM and NCMS have complementary skill sets and resources that, when combined, will deliver economic value to manufacturers.
