Mold Builders Association Sets Value Plan for Members

AMBA heads in new direction.

Executive leaders of the American Mold Builders Association (AMBA) have set a new direction for the 35-year-old entity - a direction that involves the addition of new programs designed to reduce member costs and increase resources to help members grow their business through leading-edge benchmarking information and new networking services.

“This is a very exciting day for our association,” stated Mike Armbrust, president of AMBA and owner of Mako Mold Corp., a moldmaking company specializing in close tolerance, insert and hot runner molds. “The Board of Directors has made a significant decision to utilize the services of First Resource, Inc., a management company that specializes in providing unique services and programs to U.S.-based manufacturing associations.” As AMBA’s leadership team worked through months of planning with consulting organization Harbour Results, Inc., it felt it necessary to utilize the resources of a solid management company with an outstanding track record of providing value-added services to its association-based customers.

First Resource has assigned Managing Director Kym Conis to drive the organizational change-plan that was identified during the strategic planning process. “Our leadership team has spent countless hours over the last five months seeking to better understand areas for improvement and working to create a systematic work plan to accomplish immediate objectives for the association,” Armbrust continued. Conis brings nearly 18 years of association management experience to the AMBA, a significant event management background and solid expertise in marketing.

Executives of AMBA’s Member companies will learn about new programs and services available to them during the AMBA Annual Convention in Las Vegas, March 2 – 6, 2011.  In addition to significant professional development and networking opportunities, the convention’s strategically redesigned format will offer value-added presentations from industry leaders focused on profitability, the latest mold building technologies and best practices in the marketplace.
