Husky Concludes Two Medical-focused Events in China

The Schöttli Medical Conference and MedTec tradeshow in Shanghai highlight Husky’s commitment to the medical plastics industry in the Asia-Pacific region.

Husky Injection Molding Systems wrapped up two major events in China last week with a Schöttli Medical Conference, part of the company’s Husky World Tour, and the MedTec China show, both taking place in Shanghai. The Husky World Tour event attracted nearly 50 attendees and featured presentations, engaging discussions, and the opportunity to network with Husky and other experts from across the industry. MedTec China allowed Husky to highlight its precision mold-making capabilities for customers in the medical industry in China. According to the company, these events fit with a focus on building new relationships in the medical industry. They also helped support customers at a local level by staying well-connected with the issues customers face while providing an opportunity to examine industry trends in-depth.

The Schöttli Medical Conference, an event hosted by Husky via its Schöttli brand, provided insight on how Schöttli/Husky solutions can optimize medical manufacturing performance while mitigating risk. Presentations at the World Tour event included information on challenges and opportunities in the medical market and their impact on the plastics industry, as well as system-level solutions for medical applications. Guest speakers included Russell Tew, Business Development Manager at Borealis, who discussed innovation in plastics materials for medical applications, and Jack Zuo, Sales Manager China, at Hekuma, who presented on improving competitiveness through automation.

MedTec China, organized by UBM, is a manufacturing sourcing event for medical device manufacturers in China. Taking place on September 22-24 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, the show provided opportunities for customers to seek out global design and manufacturing technology for medical devices and featured a conference track focused on new industry developments. This year, the exhibition’s scale increased by 30 percent, covering the entire upstream industry chain, and featured ten product zones. The show’s regular attendance is more than 10,000 visitors.

“The market in China is quite unique, and the solutions that Schöttli and Husky can offer drive high-quality, low-risk production with the lowest total cost of ownership,” says Johannes Strassner, Husky’s Vice President, Medical.

The Husky World Tour 2015 is a series of global customer events taking place throughout the year, giving customers more direct access to Husky’s technologies at a local level.  This year, Husky has participated in a mix of both traditional trade shows (including Plastindia, NPE, and CMEF) and Husky World Tour events.
