The plastics injection-molding industry is developing dynamically, while the demands placed on moldmaking are increasing because of the ever-complex customer requirements. Hasco is meeting the challenges and providing support during the design phase.
Hasco has been organizing Designer Days and Dinners worldwide for many years and thus engaging in a dialogue with designers. The focus at these events to exchange of information regarding market developments and trends, and new approaches to optimizing the design workflow. This year's highlights include the prehardened steel 1.2714HH, locking cylinders, color-coded status indicators, safety couplings, flat ejectors with extra blade length, manifold blocks for the configuration of flexible temperature control circuits, a hot half with a single needle valve and a multi-zone controller.
Digital services available in the Hasco portal were presented at the Designer Days. These start with the intelligent product navigation for rapidly finding the standard components. The pages with the product details list identical, similar, dependent, associated, alternative or substitute products, which are marked with a corresponding icon. Designers obtain key information and exploit the potential of the Hasco portfolio. The mold base assistant is said to guide the designer to a configured mold in five steps. The layout editor assists in compiling an individual mold unit by selecting one of the six standard layouts. The implementation of the NX library has provided simplification options. With this tool, designers can incorporate Hasco standard components into the design as CAD models using drag and drop.
In addition to products and services, the focus during the events is on exchanging information with one another. Despite all the digitization, there is, after all, no substitute for one-on-one communication. Numerous national and international Designer Days and Dinners are currently being planned for 2019.
