After closing the past fiscal year with record sales of more than €50 million for the first time in the company’s history, Haidlmair, Nussbach-based moldmaker and manufacturers of high-performance injection molds worldwide, is investing in expanding into the U.S.

Eight years ago, Haidlmair acquired a majority stake in a moldmaking company in Toronto, Canada, to better serve the North American market. Last year, however, Haidlmair sold the shares back to the former family owner, interested in striking out in the U.S. to better grow the company and be closer to its customers.

After an intensive search, Haidlmair agreed to cooperate with Pfaff Molds, a German moldmaking company with a U.S. location in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pfaff Molds provided Haidlmair with a sufficiently large, unused area at its facility that.

“In the discussions with Pfaff Molds, it very quickly became clear that we are on the same wavelength and expect many positive synergies in the future,” Mario Haidlmair says. “We see the North American region as a market with potential and want to be able to serve our existing customers even better.”

As a first step, the location will be used as a sales office and a service center, but it is planned that mold production will commence in the medium
term, for which skilled workers will be recruited and trained.
