Currier Plastics Announces New Director of Manufacturing

Raymond McKee is the new director of manufacturing at Currier Plastics; he has experience in efficiency, quality, safety and maintenance.

Currier Plastics has appointed Raymond McKee as director of Manufacturing. He is filling the position Steve Feaster vacated. Feaster announced his plan to retire earlier this year.

McKee’s mutual ideology and his experience in the plastics industry ultimately earned him the position. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering Technology from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

Previously, McKee was the production manager. In that role, he was directly responsible for efficiency, quality, safety and maintenance of the facilities where he worked. He also held positions as a production system coordinator and lean coordinator. In those roles, he facilitated lean activities, provided technical expertise, and completed lean black belt training.

McKee is knowledgeable in the successful manufacturing of plastics closures for the beverage and food industries. He has specific strengths in understanding food safety systems. His experience in AIB, SQF and ISO 9001 certifications will be helpful as Currier Plastics moves forward with updating policies and shaping plant systems. Additionally, his experience will be helpful as Currier Plastics moves forward with ISO 13485:2016 certification.

McKee currently serves as chairperson on the Injection Molding Division Board of Directors of Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). He has been a member of the board since 2008. In addition, McKee is committed to having a good work life balance. He is a den leader for his son’s Cub Scout pack, and he attends school events and activities for all three of his children.
