Closing the last quarter of 2019, The Plastek Group is excited to enter a new year, full of new tools, resources, team building and networking. With goals to market The Plastek Group in its entirety, including all subsidiaries, through modern day business to business and social networking, the company is pleased to officially share its updated online presence of The Plastek Group. In efforts to provide a universal communication, marketing and sales tool, the website design was focused on providing a user friendly and easy to navigate resource within a corporate website. Mazak Keeps Manufacturers Informed with All Axes Podcast
Mazak Corporation has launched All Axes, a new podcast developed to keep manufacturers in-the-know about all things manufacturing. The podcast features original content on a wide range of industry-critical subjects and issues affecting today’s North American manufacturers – from additive technologies, automation, multi-tasking machines and the skilled labor shortage to the Industrial Internet of Things, digitally connected factories, cybersecurity and more.
Latest WORKNC Makes Smart Factories Smarter
The latest release of WORKNC, from Hexagon’s Production Software portfolio, is said to make smart factories even smarter with new and enhanced functionality that addresses a number of manufacturing issues. WORKNC Product Owner Walter Neveux says that developers have looked at several production questions, including how many rest-roughing processes do you apply, and how lengthy are they; how much stock material do you leave for pre-finishing and finishing, and could it be less; and could we eliminate pre-finishing altogether?
BIG KAISER Ramps Up Green Initiatives
As part of an ongoing effort to make processes and products more environmentally friendly, Big Kaiser is making modifications to production materials and packaging. Specifically, they have switched to unleaded steel and recyclable packaging. The new steel uses a bismuth composite instead of lead. Additionally, new boring head packaging will use cardboard or recyclable PET instead of current Quadro packs with polypropylene. “These adjustments to our materials and packaging will go a long way toward reducing the environmental footprint of our business and, more importantly, our customers’,” Jack Burley, VP of sales and engineering said. “It’s part of company-wide commitment to care for our customers without sacrificing quality or performance.” The company was recently recognized by the Village of Hoffman Estates for the green efforts at its U.S. headquarters; these include recycling, reducing paper usage, energy and water efficiency, and HVAC monitoring.
