Women make up half of the U.S. workforce, but hold only 25 percent of the jobs in technical or computing fields. So in 2014, Verizon launched the campaign #InspireHerMind to help parents, teachers and guidance counselors motivate and inspire more girls to get involved with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM),

Since Verizon is a technology company it was easy for them to recognize the wonderful contributions women make in STEM fields, but they have also seen the importance of encouraging their passion for science, technology, engineering and math at an early age.

Click here for more information and resources on inspiring young minds. Then take some time to inspire the women in your life to not just use technology, but to make technology! You can also check out the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program for other ways to bring STEM subjects to your community.
