As June approaches, anyone interested in the advanced technology that is critical to mold machining should consider attending Amerimold June 13-14 in Novi, Michigan at the Surburban Collection Showplace. The annual event brings industry professionals into a single building to share ideas and make connections.

Numerous educational opportunities, such as in-booth demonstrations, are event highlights. Cutting-edge information sessions called Tech Talks are complimentary with registration. They will begin each hour and will feature a panel or presentation on topics including additive manufacturing for molds, closing the skills gap and supply chain dynamics. See the Tech Talk schedule at a glance.

The show floor will feature exhibits from more than 200 leading suppliers and manufacturers. The event also aims to connect builders, buyers and suppliers for production sourcing, technology transfer and business development through valuable networking events.

Amerimold is presented by Modern Machine Shop and sister publications MoldMaking TechnologyPlastics Technology, Automotive Design and Production and Additive Manufacturing.

  • How to Eliminate Chatter

Some techniques commonly used to combat chatter. Use these guidelines to establish a good foundation for optimizing your moldmaking processes.

  • How to Choose the Right CNC Router

With moldmaking the focus is on injection molding or other mold types that use wire EDM or CNC machining centers to create the mold components. Your typical machining center weighs several tons and has a relatively small working envelope compared to a CNC router. The mill’s massive construction lends itself to machining rigid materials with very tight tolerances. While this type of CNC is suited for injection molding components, it isn’t always the ideal tool for the job when we broaden our scope of moldmaking and the current opportunities in the marketplace

  • Solving Mold Alignment Problems with the Right Alignment Lock

Correct alignment lock selection will reduce maintenance costs, molding downtime and increase part quality over the mold’s entire life.
