Amerimold 2019 Update: What You Should Know about Improving Your Third-Party Mold Maintenance Culture
Husqvarna and MoldTrax have teamed up to review a PM action plan and the barriers to systemize and change the mold maintenance and repair culture across multiple facilities.
Improving the care and performance of third-party molds requires a commitment to a plan. This presentation will share the journey of one company that has made that commitment. After attending a mold maintenance manager strategy course, the senior global tooling engineer at Husqvarna, a commercial lawn & garden equipment manufacturer, embarked on this journey by first locating all of the company’s molds across six different locations and centralizing the company’s data collection with a documentation system. He then developed a specific mold risk calculator for the software that indicated mold condition and cycle count expectations, which helped establish the proper mold maintenance action plan for the company’s contract molders. The ultimate goal was not only to secure their buy-in, but also a commitment to complete the necessary forms so Husqvarna could begin monitoring repairs throughout the globe and improve decision-making concerning necessary repairs and replacements. Husqvarna and MoldTrax have teamed up to review this action plan and discuss the barriers to systemize and change the mold maintenance and repair culture across multiple facilities.
