Amerimold 2019: More Products From the Show
More highlights of moldmaking industry products from the exhibitors at Amerimold 2019.
DMS featured its latest standard and special mold components, including its standard lifters and the new range of in-mold edge gate cutting components. The cutting sprue bushing and sprue puller bushing have been added into the range manufactured by Almo. The cutting sprue bushing feeds plastic components near the center of the mold, virtually eliminating cold runners and trimming the gate as the mold opens.
FCS North America showed how its line of standard, modular clamping systems, its automatic handling and storage systems and its flexible control software systems can help moldmakers more easily advance their operations to being a production environment via Industry 4.0 principles.
3D Graphite and Machining, in association with Advanced Micron Tool LLC, introduced the new Heli-BEAST CVD-coated end mills at Amerimold. The Heli-BEAST is specifically designed for the machining of graphite and other non-ferrous materials. For roughing, the patented geometry allows the operator to increase chip load for faster results, without harming the integrity of the part. It is available in flat, ball, and radius tool styles, and is manufactured in the USA.
Trending products from Cumsa USA included the new Smart Worm Pin and Lifter. The Smart Worm Lifter releases small undercuts within 100mm or 125mm of ejection stroke and allows angles up to six degrees. A customizable insert gives freedom to the moldmaker. The Smart Worm Pin is a fully mechanical solution that is also customizable and also enables angles of up to six degrees, but it releases smaller undercuts, namely within 30mm or 60mm of ejection stroke. Cumsa also featured its own line of block cylinders in multiple sizes and mounting styles.
Alliance Specialties and Laser Sales displayed their state-of-the-art engraving and laser welding systems, including the ID1 fiber laser welding system, which generates laser power through a series of diode pumps instead of crystals and mirrors. Virtually no maintenance is required because there are no more intricate parts found in typical YAG lasers. Alliance is also a full service mold finishing and repair center specializing in polishing, laser welding and engraving, mold maintenance and hot runner manifold cleaning offering 24/7 service.
Smith Enterprises Inc. displayed its line of custom and standard components for molds, including blades, sleeves, ejectors, core pins, valve pins and micro pins. Sleeves and pins are offered up to 36-inch length, micro pins to 0.0015-inch diameter. The company serves customers in the medical, personal care, electronic, and automotive industries.
