... In our skilled worker shortage here in North America, but that's not a good thing ... unless maybe we try to learn what others are doing to meet this challenge head on. In Germany too, the increasing lack of interest from young people in manufacturing has also caused concern over their industry’s future. The German engineering association VDI reports that the number of available jobs for engineers hit an all-time high earlier this year. Just like here there are many efforts underway to lure the next generation and keep them well-trained and interested in manufacturing. Take a look here at some of their initiatives.
