Showing American Pride and Manufacturing Innovation on Independence Day
Happy Birthday, America. Tomorrow the United States of America will celebrate its 241st year of independence.
American pride is displayed loud and clear inside the shop of Krieger Craftsmen, MMT's 2016 Leadtime Leader Award winner.
Touring the Alliance Specialties facility during its recent open house event, the American flag and the very appropriate words on a wall caught my eye, provoking me to snap this shot.
There is no American flag appliqued on this semi truck, but what is declared makes it clear that Chicago Mold Engineering wants everyone to know what they're moving is American-made molds and other products.
This year's Leadtime Leader Award winner, Graphic Tool Corp., displays its honors and its patriotism proudly for all who enter the shop to see.
At Amerimold, many shops showed their pride in American manufacturing, with perhaps the biggest display made by A-1 Tool and Engineering, shown here.
Superior Tooling also put its USA pride front and center at Amerimold this year. There is definitely no mistaking this company's patriotism.
Anyone who has the opportunity to visit the new Haas training center at Vincennes University in Lebanon, Indiana, will be greeted out in the showroom and machine shop by Old Glory.

This image is from my personal photographs taken during a recent trip to Boston, Massachusetts. Note the year this cemetery was first established, and know that several Minute Men and many of their family members are interred here. If not for these men and their compatriots, the United States of America might still be under British rule. Freedom is never free.
Happy Birthday, America. Tomorrow the United States of America will celebrate its 241st year of independence. It’s fitting that we celebrate our nation’s successes and never forget those who built this country from the ground up, with blood, sweat, tears and a ton of determination and innovation. I believe the U.S. manufacturing industry is one of the “legs” that helped raise the United States to be a leader on so many levels, and if we continue to nurture this industry by working to bridge the skills gap and doing what we do best: Researching, Innovating and Inventing, we’ll continue to be a country that every American can be proud of.
I put together a short slide show today that is a compilation of images captured over the last year by myself and by others. I wanted to show a display of American patriotism in manufacturing and I hope you enjoy it.
