M4 Named Small-Medium Sized Manufacturer of the Year

mHUB Chicago and MxD named M4 as the Fourth Revolution Awards ’ Small-Medium Sized Manufacturer of the Year. The ceremony took place on October 2, 2019, at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago to highlight and celebrate leadership, innovation and achievements of the Midwest’s manufacturing ecosystem. The company states it is honored to receive the award. The Small-Medium Sized Manufacturer of the Year award recognizes a small or mid-sized manufacturer that has demonstrated its excellence in business practices, innovative processes and productivity enhancements as well as contributions to its local community.

Palmgren Marks 100th Anniversary

Palmgren marks its 100^th anniversary as a leading manufacturer of innovative and patented products for the metalworking industry. Its founder, Clarence Palmgren, is credited with the design and manufacture of the first machine vises, cross slides and rotary tables. His designs significantly increased efficiency and productivity in the metalworking industry worldwide.

OPEN MIND Celebrates 25 Years

Open Mind Technologies AG celebrates its 25th company anniversary this year. Founded in 1994, the company has grown from just 20 employees to over 300 personnel located throughout the world in sales and service subsidiaries in 15 countries. According to the company, they are proud of company employees and accomplishments over the past 25 years and will continue to seek new approaches and technologies to meet global manufacturing challenges. Not only does the company sustain growth, but its North American teams are also dedicated to helping customers with technical consultation and service to create optimal CAD/CAM solutions together. The company continues to be at the forefront of key and emerging technologies, such as providing integration with additive manufacturing processes and supporting Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Appoints Global Marketing Director

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence has appointed Maja Foster as global marketing director of its production software business. Joining the company after seven years at machine tool manufacturer Mazak, including the last three as European marketing manager, Foster brings a wealth of metalworking industry experience to her new role, in which she will be setting marketing strategies for all product lines under the production software umbrella.

Methods Machine Tools Appoints New President & CEO

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. announces that its board of directors has appointed Mark Wright as its president and CEO, effective September 13, 2019. Wright will assume all operating functions of the company, including the Sudbury, MA, headquarters and all seven direct offices throughout the U.S., as well as its national distribution network.

The Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Production Software business has hired new Account Manager Nicole Scott to oversee accounts for its metal-cutting CAD/CAM customers in Texas and Oklahoma. Scott is excited to join the team and use her machine-tool industry experience to help customers improve their productivity.
