Amerimold 2016 has begun!

It’s almost like Christmas, with all the build-up to Amerimold including a year of overall planning, conference program organization, exhibitors anxious to display their products and tout their services, promoting our event to the industry and, of course, preparing for our annual Leadtime Leader Awards ceremony and Casino Cocktail Reception—both sponsored by Progressive Components, not to mention announcing our Top 10 Reasons to be a Moldmaker t-shirt! Well, it’s finally here. Today is Amerimold Expo Day and our event has begun!

It’s going to be a very busy two days, filled with so many opportunities you won’t want to miss. So I’m going to call out a few of them here!

For starters, those who have signed up for our awesome conference program will probably see MMT Editorial Director Christina Fuges and me opening the sessions each morning at 8 a.m. in the Opal and Garnet rooms within the Suburban Collection Showplace.

While walking the show floor, be sure to stop by our booth and say hello, too. We’ll be working our Gardner Business Media booth #637 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. today and tomorrow. You can pick up this year’s Top 10 Reasons t-shirt, chat with us about what’s new with your company, and who knows? Maybe we’ll blog or Tweet about you! You will also have an opportunity to meet other editors from our sister publications Modern Machine Shop and Plastics Technology at our booth as well.

Don’t forget to stick around today because right after the show floor closes, from about 4:45 to 5:30 p.m., everyone will gather outside of the conference rooms where the Leadtime Leader Award winner and Honorable Mention shops will be announced. This is a special and fun time for us and it’s an honor to recognize some great mold manufacturing companies that are very passionate about what they do. Then, immediately following the ceremony, everyone will relocate into the Sapphire Room for the ever popular Casino Cocktail Reception. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and greet your colleagues, network with customers and just have a lot of fun. Our reception takes place from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Please join us!

As with every Amerimold, Christina and I will be making the rounds of the show floor, visiting exhibitors and guests and covering the event. With a record number of exhibitors and so many attendees we have a huge amount to cover, too, so if you see us racing by please do call out to us to say hi and we’ll visit as soon as we’re able to circle back. It’s going to be a great show!

For all those who are unable to attend this year’s Amerimold, don’t despair. We'll share details after the show via our Insider newsletter on June 28, plus we'll provide coverage in our blogs, in slide shows, and perhaps even video clips. You can also hook up with MMT on Twitter (@MMTMag) and receive up-to-the-minute tweets right from the show floor. Oh, and don't forget to connect with us on Facebook, too!
