Figuring Out Why Plastic Parts Fail

Why is the injection molding world so reliant on rules of thumb and patches to problems instead of the application of science, critical thinking and root cause solutions? Does anyone think they have truly optimized the design and production of their new plastic parts? You'll find out the answers to these questions at Amerimold.

Why is the injection molding world so reliant on rules of thumb and patches to problems instead of the application of science, critical thinking and root cause solutions? Does anyone think they have truly optimized the design and production of their new plastic parts? You'll find out the answers to these questions at Amerimold when John Beaumont president and CEO of Beaumont Technologies gives a presentation that examines these issues and takes a critical look at why we fail so regularly and what can be done to advance the industry.

Despite nearly 100 years of injection molding and significant advancements in science, engineering and technology, there is still a strong expectation that a new mold will fail, go back and forth between the mold builder and molder for weeks, months or years, delay a new product launch or cause plastic parts to fail.  The American Injection Molding (AIM) Institute offers both tested and non-tested courses and programs delivered by industry professionals and educators to help with  these challenges.

The AIM Institute was founded by Beaumont who helped develop and chaired the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Erie. After 25 years, Beaumont retired from the University in 2014 to focus on developing the AIM Institute to better serve the U.S. plastics industry and practicing plastics professionals. Courses and programs are designed for a for wide range of skill levels including engineering, technician and management dealing with job functions ranging from product design, mold engineering, materials, processing and quality.
