40K Grant Donation to a Worthy Cause—Workshops for Warriors

It is wonderful to see industry suppliers help further efforts to educate our industry—and help our nation’s veterans—with a $40,000 grant worth of metal-cutting tools to a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free job training, certification, and job placement to veterans.

It is wonderful to see cutting tool producer Sandvik Coromant help further efforts to educate our industry—and help our nation’s veterans—with a $40,000 grant worth of metal-cutting tools to Workshops for Warriors. This San Diego-based, non-profit organization is dedicated to providing free job training, certification, and job placement to veterans.

The donation will supplement Sandvik’s new Machining program at its San Diego facility; and the grant will include technical and application support from the company’s Cypress Productivity Center.

“We are both humbled and honored to be able to contribute to such an essential organization,” says Jamie Price, president, Sandvik Coromant USA. “We’re proud that our tools will be put to valuable use in the training and education of veterans.”

I would love to hear about other organizations undertaking similar efforts. Please share your stories!
